House Republicans Unveil New Video Opposing Democrat Energy Tax (“Cap and Trade”) Bill

This morning, Congressman Kevin McCarthy sent over a link to a new video created by House Republican Whip Eric Cantor — McCarthy serves as Chief Deputy Whip. Here is an intro to the piece by McCarthy, followed by the video…

FROM CONGRESSMAN KEVIN MCCARTHY
As unemployment climbs, Speaker Pelosi’s top priority is passing a cap and trade bill, which imposes a national energy tax (aka “cap and tax”) that is predicted by economic experts to result in more American job losses and cost all Americans more in utility and energy bills. Now is the time to focus on job creation and cutting spending. There is also a better energy approach called the American Energy Act that does not impose a burdensome national energy tax on American families and small businesses, helps create American jobs, and puts America on a path towards energy independence by producing more American energy – American wind, American solar, American oil, American nuclear, and American geothermal. For more information on Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax that is slated to be voted on this week, please check out the following new web video released by my good friend, Republican Whip Eric Cantor:

What is truly sad and frustrating is that the national folks have already seen the devastation in the living laboratory called California. Don’t we have here some of the highest unemployment, business closures AND home foreclosures? For anybody to claim there is NOT a correlation between our already imposed c/t (AB32) and our other heavier-than-thou regulations is just silly. My only question is are they stupid, liars or stupid liars?

    Congressman McCarthy,

Since you are in charge of candidate recruitment, are you making sure that these people hold to Republican Principles like opposing this or just happen to be registered as Republicans?

We don’t need you recruiting Ken Calverts and Mary Bono Macks. We know how you blew it in Oregon by supporting a guy in a contested Republican Primary who took his girlfriend to an abortion clinic and then tried to lie about it.
