Simply look at messaging. Someone show me the ad that Meg Whitman ran saying “I am a moderate vote for me”. I saw a lot of ads beating up Steve Poizner for being a liberal and implying that she was more conservative. Show me otherwise and I will buy you lunch.
Carly Fiorina ran ads beating up Tom Campbell on taxes and featuring Sarah Palin. She got pro-life endorsements as well. Again show me her “moderate” ad. Carly is a conservative and ran as one.
The reality is our nominees had to run as conservatives. Even a Maldonado slate mailer said he was conservative. LOL.
Conservatives do need to find better ways to get the truth out when being outspent by their opponents, but no one ran as a moderate.
Finally the legislative elections tell the real story.
The seats held by the three tax increasing Assembly members are being replaced by conservatives. (Pugno, Halderman and Donnelly) Other additions like Mike Morrell and Kristen Olsen. Conservatives. Brian Jones, Allan Mansoor and Don Wagnor. Oh ya conservative.
