When President Obama took office, the reform of our nation’s
healthcare laws took center stage. While no one can argue
that our healthcare system wasn’t in need of serious reform, the
intensely partisan and murky way in which Obamacare was drafted and
forced on the American people made it wrong for the country from
the beginning. While I do support some of the reforms in
Obamacare, such as protecting people with pre-existing conditions
and young adults, I did not believe this law would lower costs,
increase patient choice or make healthcare better and more
affordable for all Americans.

Born from partisan back door deals and closed room meetings,
Obamacare is a boondoggle of historic proportions. Candidate
Obama pledged unprecedented transparency to the American people
when running for President back in 2008. Yet the day he took
office, President Obama got to work on one of the most opaque and
closed door, big-government takeovers we have seen. Weighing
in at over 2,700 pages, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), although
deemed constitutional by the Supreme Court, is still a dangerous
collaboration of bad legislating, smoke and mirrors mathematical

Remember the words “you didn’t built that- someone else
did!”?

That seminal moment in the 2012 Presidential race may seem like
years ago, as this political season has really ramped up and
thousands of commercials, emails and mail pieces have inundated
your TVs and mailboxes since President Obama stood on the stage in
Virginia that summer day and stumped: “If you have a business, you
didn’t build that. Someone else built that.”

The President’s aides and liberal pundits quickly stammered into
damage control mode, claiming that the President’s words had been
taken out of context and what he really meant was that all
businesses are successful because of collective things provided by
the government such as public roads and the internet.

In today’s 24 hour partisan media market, it seems at times the
pundits are watching every candidate’s moves, waiting with bated
breath for someone to slip up, say something wrong or veer of
message, and when one does, it is as if Christmas came
early.Any opportunity to take a statement and spin it,
exploit it or take out it of context can produce days of political
fodder, millions of dollars worth of TV… Read More

Today the Supreme Court upheld
President Obama’s health care mandate. While I respect the Court’s
ruling, it doesn’t change what we know to be true: Obamacare is a
bad law that is wrong for America. Today the Supreme Court ruled
that Obamacare is constitutional, not that it is a good or wise
law. Obamacare is still a dangerous collaboration of bad
legislating, smoke and mirrors calculations and dangerous policy.
Under President Obama’s signature legislation, health care costs
continue to skyrocket, and up to 20 million Americans could lose
their employer-based coverage. Born from intensely partisan, back

Today Americans across the country woke up to the report of
another month of abysmal jobs numbers. But these numbers aren’t
news to the millions of people unemployed or underemployed, these
numbers simply codify what they already know to be true: our
country is hurting and it isn’t getting better.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)announcedthat
only 69,000 jobs were added in the month of May, far below market
expectations and well short of the 150,000 jobs that BLS says are
needed every month just to keep pace with population growth. While
the announcement of any new jobs is welcomed, May marks the fourth
straight month of slowing job growth and demonstrates that
Americans continue to suffer through a painfully tepid recovery
made even slower by the president’s failed policies.

Remember when President Obama promised that if we passed the
“Stimulus,” we could keep unemployment under 8%? The
unemployment rate in May increased to 8.2 percent, marking an
inauspicious milestone—the 40th consecutive month that unemployment
has been at or above 8 percent under President Obama. The
