Mike Spence is Past President of the California Republican Assembly (CRA). CRA is the oldest Republican grassroots organization in California. He is also Vice-President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. Mike Spence completed three terms as a board member of the California Republican Party. Mike is currently Chairman of the CRP Initiatives Committee. Mike has also been elected nine times to the Los Angeles County Central Committee. Mike is also serving hisfifth term on West Covina Unified School District Board. He is past President of the California School Board Leadership Council, a network representing conservative school board members in the state. In 1996, the Republican Speaker of the State Assembly appointed Mike to a four-year term on the Library of California Board. He was awarded the Samuel Adams Leadership Award from the Washington; D.C. based Local Government Council in 1997 and the Capitol Resource Institute Award for Educational Excellence in 1999. Mike serves on the as a board member of the La Puente Valley Meals on Wheels, the Southern California Council of the Junior State Foundation and the Southern California Leadership Network Board of Directors. Mike has served as a political consultant on numerous campaigns. He has appeared on numerous radio and television programs providing commentary on political issues including the John and Ken Show, the Laura Ingram Show, The Roger Hedgecock Show, Scarborough Country Fox News and CNN. Mike is happily married to the former Marielena Barros and resides in West Covina with their daughter Reagan and son Nathanael.
