Rocky Chavez, a CaliforniaGOP candidate for U.S. Senate, isn’t just another empty suit or pretty face in politics. Chavez, a Republican Assemblyman from Oceanside, CA,served 28 years in the United States Marine Corps, rose to the rank of Colonel, and commanded 22,000 troops.
He later served as the acting Secretary of the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and then as the Vice Chairman of the Assembly… Read More
House Amendment 1 to HR 2029, Omnibus Spending Act,is the 2,000-plus page $1.15 trillion spending act to fund the government through September 30, 2016. Congressman Tom McClintock voted NO, and explains why.
“A bill of this complexity always has good and bad provisions, and the question comes down to whether in balance it moves the government in the right direction,” Rep. Tom McClintock, R-CA posted on his Congressional website Friday.
On the plus side: • It stops bailouts of insurance companies required by Obamacare. • It ends the oil-export ban on American petroleum. (Although it should be noted that the president has the authority to do so on his own, and in 13 months we are likely to have a president who will anyway). • It blocks the proposed IRS rule that would formalize the… Read More
Thomas Del Beccaro, a former chairman of the California Republican Party, is seeking the U.S. Senate seat being vacated in 2016 by Democrat Barbara Boxer. The burning question most people have for Del Beccaro is WHY? The district is a Democrat stronghold, having elected and reelected Boxer since 1993.
“There are people who run for office, and people who run for ideas,” Del Beccaro said in an interview.
“California has had one-party rule in the U.S. Senate and the California legislature for most of the last twenty years,” Del Beccaro said. “The result has been a state that is number one in poverty, at the bottom in education, and suffering… Read More

Since 1976, Lake Superior University annually publishes a “List of Words Banished from the Queen’s English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness.” A few of the obnoxious, overused words on the 2015 list include “polar vortex,” “takeaway,” and “foodie.” “Wasn’t it called ‘winter’ just a few years ago?” one student asked.“It’s ridiculous. Do we call people who like wine ‘winies’ or beer lovers ‘beeries’?” asked another.I love semantics.
But from the “you-can’t-make-this-stuff-up” file, in 2013, Big Brother officials in Seattlecalled for a ban on “potentially offensive” language. Government workers in Seattle were told that the words “citizen” and “brown bag” were deemed “potentially offensive” and would no longer be used in official documents and discussions. Seattle officials also said the word “citizen” was banned “because many people who live… Read More
When politicians crash and burn, they create diversionary tactics to disguise their failures. A perfect example is California Gov. Jerry Brown, and his impious policy on climate change. Just a few days ago, California Gov. Jerry Brown said the Lake County wildfire is evidence that global warming already has created dangerous conditions in California. Yet, if the climate really hasn’t really changed in twenty years, and the rainfall is actually normal (four of five years historically are below average, with one in five ‘wet’, according to a scientist friend) how does Brown get away with this garbage?

During the course of the case agains Gunlund Ranches, Shawver’s status had changed. He… Read More
