Bilbray slams Roach hard - Note to self: Remember to Vote
by Jon Fleischman - Publisher (bio) (email)(print)
The attached mail piece is a stinking attack on conservative businessman Eric Roach who is one of the leading candidates in the GOP donnybrook to replace the disgraced and imprisoned Duke Cunningham. Roach is making a big splash, spending millons of dollars to run a targeted campaign in a crowded field. You can read my take on Roach here.
That said, the mail piece that is attached below is a great reminder to anyone thinking about running for office - don't forget to vote! You never know when it will come back at you -- in this case, in full color!
Bilbray roasts Roach on missing a couple of elections, as well as trying to make him out to be a carpetbagger from San Francisco and more.
With this special election taking place on Tuesday, look for more 'creativity' from campaign consultants.
[If you are a consulting in this race, and have a noteworthy piece of mail you want shared, send it to me here - Flash]

For the record, the mysterious millionaire V. Eric Roach only managed to vote 5 times over the last 12 years.
Posted by Dave Gilliard at April 7, 2006 11:43amYeah, "a couple if elections?". Try all BUT a couple of elections. Be a little more evenhanded in the commentary, please.
Posted by Nate Teague at April 7, 2006 12:26pmHey Bilbray, Saratoga is not San Francisco. A lawsuit filed in Sacramento County to force you to put your true occupation as lobbyist on the ballot doesn't cost the taxpayers of San Diego; (or Sacramento as filing fees covered the court costs) and Roach didn't file the suit, I notice you put a line through the name of the real person who filed the complaint and then blamed Roach...further you ought to be ashamed of yourself for publishing personal information about Roach like D.O.B., Place of Birth, end digits of Social Security number etc. for fear of identity theft.
Posted by Albert Admire at April 7, 2006 11:31pmFinally, it is no wonder Roach didn't sign a pledge from your FAIR group of which you were paid $80,000 last year as their lobbyist. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. If your going to hit somebody, why don't you do it earlier, so they have time to respond. Not very respectable!
