Happy Birthday Clay!

We here at the FlashReport want to extend our best wishes to our friend Clay Russell on the occasion of his birthday!

While we cannot be with Clay today as he celebrates his big day, we know he’ll have a great birthday!!

Here’s a ‘big kiss’ on behalf of all of Clay’s conservative buddies!

GOP Congressman George Radanovich did what?

**10:05 am – Update** I spoke with a representative of Team Radanovich who let me know that 1) the Bee article really overstates the Feinstein presence in the mail, and 2) Radanovich is in-fact in a race with his opponent being a wealthy businessman who has put up a million dollars… DEVELOPING**

My alternate title for this post: "Today IS Friday the 13th, just ask George Radanovich…"

It was just two weeks ago when I was asked a question following a speech I gave to the Republican Women’s Federated Group in La Habra in Orange County. "What is going on with the Dick Mountjoy for U.S. Senate Campaign and why does Dianne Feinstein have such a big lead?"

In my response, I touched on a few different reasons for our GOP ‘challenges’ in taking out liberal Feinstein, but one of them looms front and center today, amidst… Read More

Vote No on Joyce Kennard

Joyce Kennard is a badState Supreme Court Justice. She twice voted to invalidate the state’s parental consent law. That is why CRAis urging Californians to vote no. You can see the press release below.

Once I was asked by a reporter, if opposing judges based on the parental consent issue is valid. After all he thought it was only one issue. I asked him what would he think about a judge that was good on everything (Kennard is not by the way) but was against Freedom of thePress. He never answered.

Any judge thatbelieves the right to privacy means afourteen year old girl can be taken to an abortion business by her statutory rapist to get a a secret abortion that her parents will ever know about, despite the possibility of deadly complications deserves ano vote from California’s voters. That’s a pretty good single issue if you ask me.

Today’s Commentary: Miscellaneous Items That Caught The Eye

The Unions Have Written-off Angelides

Despite what union spokeshole Steve Smith saysand despite CCPOA VP Chuck Alexander saying, "We have not given up on Angelides," it sure as heck looks like the unions have abandoned the Angelides ship. They’ve started handing out lifevests to the passengers. Now they’re trying to salvage some of the down ticket races, with the Lieutenant Governor’s race as their first target. And now’s the time for conservatives to show their mettle with active support of the McClintock effort.

Bill Bradley writes some fairly encouraging words today, stating, "As a result of Angelides’ marginal approach and late in the game failure to ignite support among Democrats and independents, the Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor, insurance commissioner, secretary of state, and controller are all in danger of losing." We’ve known this for close to a week now, but the other side’s only… Read More

Tom McClintock makes the case for why they are a bad deal…

I am going to make pitch for all FR readers to keep an eye (or a browser) trained on the blog of Chris Reed’s Blog at the San Diego Union Tribune Editorial Department, America’s Finest Blog (a humble name, no?). Chris pens a lot of great stuff, and shares great insight, which often times makes to to the pages of the FlashReport.

Anyways, I gave Chris the testimonial so that he will instantly forgive me for taking the entire text of his latest blog post (bad internet etiquette, for sure!) and placing it here. But I know Chris would want as many people as possible to read what he says after hearing Tom McClintock talk to the U-T Editorial Board about the bond measures on the November ballot. You can read the post here on Chris’ page, but the whole thing is here:

We need 90 – Who takes someone’s home to build a theme park?

The Proposition 90 Campaign to end the abuse of ’eminent domain’ by government entities has launched a new televisions spot. It’s a powerful one that makes the message clear as it takes us into the living room of a family (to the left) who almost lost their home to a government taking — so that a developer could build an amusement park on their property! Check out the ad, linked below, or on the Yes on 90 Website. Assemblywoman Mimi Walters, the Chairman of the Yes on 90 Campaign, needs your help, so go to the website and do what you can. If you are a GOP volunteer, your GOTV materials will say Yes on 90 as that is the official position of the California Republican Party!… Read More

More Fun with SD 36…Plescia Weighs In

After reading my post of yesterday, questioning just how the challenger to Dennis Hollingsworth in a27%Dem district could possibly live up to his fantasy of raising $1.6 million, Assemblyman George Plescia shot me an email.

George says hefinds itmost funnythat Dennis’ opponent wants to raise $1.6 million, yet accepted the voluntaryspendinglimits that dictate he can only spend $1,003,000.

D’oh!

I guess I’ll simply refer back to the Phil LaVelle-penned SDUT article on this for the quote that says it all. Bruce Cain of UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies said, “When you’ve got a gap like 50 percent to 27 percent, you’re smoking something if you think you’re going to overcome those odds."… Read More
