FR Online – Any advice?

[This request for input will be here Thursday  – Sunday of the holiday weekend.  I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!  – Flash]

The online version of the FlashReport is getting ready to celebrate its two-month anniversary next week.  I hope that you have enjoyed the new look and format of the report.  As most of you know, the FR was an e-newsletter for years before being published as a website.

The process of creating this site was a collaborative one.  I had a lot of input from readers, and also a great  development crew over at Cloudspace in Orlando (they are the development team with which I worked – and their site is linked at the bottom of the site).

That said, we are constantly updating the site, both the front-end for you, the user, as well as the ease of use ‘backstage’ for the Publisher (me!) as well as the fantastic FR Blog Team (aren’t they great?).

Just recently we have added a "Commentary Library" available on the side of this page (the daily commentary) as well as on the pull-down "FR INFO" menu.  From here, it is easy to see and go to past Commentaries.  We’ve also revamped the search feature so you can easily find content from past Commentaries or Blog Entries.

Right now, the development team is working on some new formatting functions for the home page to allow me to better feature the top news stories in a way that will draw your eye.  Also, we are starting a discussion about how to bring to the blog an ability for comments from readers to be posted  (this will require site registration for those who want to participate this way.

Anyways, this is YOUR chance to weigh in and give me your thoughts.  Do you like the site?  Does it help you with your work?  Your hobby?  How can the site be improved?  Are there features you would like to see added?  Websites or Blogs you want featured?  Content you want added?   How is the look of the site?  Can you easily navigate?  What about the blog –  do you like the way it works?  Anyways, I think you get the idea.  Everything is fair game as  I try to make sure that the FlashReport is your FAVORITE place to catch up on California politics!

So, there are two ways to give your feedback:

You can send me an e-mail here.
Or you can send  your input anonymously here.

Thank you for your input — drop me a line.  Even if it is to say you love the site, and wouldn’t change a thing.  Your feedback is valuable!

Have a great Thanksgiving, and enjoy the holiday weekend!

Jon
