Schwarzenegger: The Education Governor

This Governor cares about education…

"Governor Schwarzenegger has long been an advocate of charter schools because of their ability to reach students and achieve results in unique and effective ways," said Dennis "Coach" Snyder, founder of the Escondido Charter School District*. "He has worked to support charter schools across the state as Governor. His plan to build for the future of California includes half a billion dollars to build more charter schools. I applaud Governor Schwarzenegger for his dedication to ensuring California‘s schools have the resources we need to educate our children."

This is one quote among many on the Governor’s commitment to education and highlighting his support from the rank and file, teachers, coaches, school board members, college trustees and superintendents from across the state in a recent Join Arnold news release.

If the voters of California only knew that the Governor had support for the rank and file in education  who want to mold impressionable minds with quality education and the other guy had big union support who just want to feed the beast, with more  money at any cost, the race at least among those who put education at the top of their list of issues, would be over.

On campaign tactics, i really like that some of the campaign resources are being used on these sorts of things–reaching out to a teachers and education leaders on the local level.
