Today’s Commentary: Want higher taxes? Vote for Angelides. A clear choice.

Request for your thoughts: TERM LIMITS CHANGES/REPEAL
I am penning a column on the issue of term limits, looking specifically at whether a measure penned by the state legislature and placed on the ballot would even have a chance of passing?  Are term limits working?  Have they failed?  Please drop me a note here, or feel free to comment below.

TOP STORY: Phil Angelides wants to raise your taxes, my taxes — everyone’s taxes.  Just click here if you need a reminder of exactly how bad an Angelides Governship would be for the economic freedom of all Californians.  The top story in the FR today comes out of the Sacramento Bee.  Governor Schwarzenegger was extremely clear that he has and continues to oppose any tax increases on Californians.

GOLDEN PEN: In the Golden Pen today, columnist Jill Stewart, tired of seeing the mysterious back-room "Compensation Commission" jack up the salaries of elected officials, decides to expose the members!  Who are they?  Well just read her column, and not only will you know who they are, but they are colorfully describes as only Jill can do it!

Other items of note:

  • There are several articles on the most recent survey in the Governor’s race, that clearly shows that Phil Angelides has big problems on his hands.  The Governor is solidifying his support amongst self-identified conservatives and moderates, as well as swing decline-to-state voters.  In the meantime, Angelides is floundering.
  • If you are driving around Pacific Palisades don’t be surprised to once-again see Arnold Schwarzenegger tooling around on his Harley.  The Governor has clinched his motorcycle operator’s license, and you can be sure he will be back in the saddle as riding his ‘bike’ is among his favorite hobbies.
  • The LA Times has a big profile-piece on Gray Davis (remember him?  he is the recalled ex-Governor.) who is living the high-life – go figure that he is now being ‘taken care of’ by the people he took care of while he was running his pay-for-play administration.
