Jon Fleischman, the California-based Republican operative who is perhaps best known among insiders as the author of the FlashReport, a political tip sheet, is leaving his day job to hang a shingle and set up a government relations/political consulting/communications shop.
Fleischman, a former executive director of the California GOP, has spent the past five years as deputy director for public affairs at the Orange County Sheriff¹s Department, helping to burnish the image of Sheriff Mike Carona, a rising star in state Republican politics.
But don¹t worry, FlashReport fans. Fleischman insists that his new gig means he¹ll have more time, not less, to ferret out political tidbits. He¹ll be opening his consulting office in Irvine, Calif., in August.
