Steve Maviglio – Loyal to Davis..and Angelides…to the end…

Over at the Democrat Majority Report website, FR (liberal) friend Steve Maviglio  a ‘Top Ten Races to Watch’ — I guess he is doing this once a week as he did it last week and now this week.  Anyways, on the first list, he graciously threw Angelides v. Schwarzenegger in the 10th and final slot.  This is commendable.  Steve’s a loyal guy — after all, if Gray Davis was the HMS Titanic, and Davis the Captain on the bridge — Steve stayed with "Captain Davis" as the ship went down.  Keeping Phil Angelides on the Top Ten list was a gesture of kindness as no one would rate the Governor’s race in California as one of the top ten races to watch…

Well, perhaps demonstrating a little bit of "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" — in his new top ten list, Steve has finally conceded that Angelides no longer makes the top ten.

He ads a "special mention" for Angelides — which I have posted below.  Keep dreaming, Steve.  Your loyalty is admirable, though!

Special Mention: Governor —
Angelides (D) vs. Schwarzenegger (R)

I said it last week and I’ll say it again. At any given moment, anything Arnold Schwarzenegger says or does could turn the race upside down. On top of that, there hasn’t been a single respected public poll showing Schwarzenegger over 50 percent; even the widely reported PPIC numbers had the Governor at 48-30. Angelides has a heavy schedule of campaigning with the state’s top Democrats down the stretch, including Senator Barack Obama, Democratic chairman Howard Dean, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez. If Democrats come home as expected, this race could tighten quickly.

    Loyalty is underrated.

However, I don’t think that even Maviglio could keep a straight face during that posting. When it is 4th and 9…er 18 and you are on your own 26 inside of five minutes…turn out the lights.

Angelides is no Leinart and Dwayne Jarret isn’t going to bail him out.

And as an aside, perhaps, if the GOPers in D.C. were loyal to its base and our core party values, we wouldn’t be looking at losing several seats in the House and Senate.

I should have included a note for all the UCLA homers around here. The above is a reference to the USC/ND game last year.

I realize that “big time” football is a foreign concept in Westwood.

See you ladies in a couple of weeks where we will no doubt hang another 50 on you and your “powder blues”.
