I was a policeman when Jerry Brown was elected Governor

I got this letter today from a friend.  It seems to be circulating around the Internet via e-mail.  If you haven’t received this, send this link to your friends and family as a reminder of why we don’t want Jerry Brown occupying the Attorney General’s office.  On Tuesday (or before, if they are absentee ballot voters), they need to vote for Sen. Chuck Poochigian.  Here’s why:

Mr. Gregg Passama ("COPS")
President
California Organization of Police & Sheriffs
430 N. Vineyard #310
Ontario, California 91764

Mr. Passama,

I am a retired Los Angeles Policeman.  I was a "cop" who worked, in uniform, on the streets of Los Angeles for over 27 years.  Like the vast majority of those in law enforcement, I am a conservative. During my 27 years, I’ve never met a cop, detective or federal agent who supported Jerry Brown.  In fact, he was despised.

THE DECISION OF YOUR ORGANIZATION TO ENDORSE JERRY BROWN SICKENS ME.

Why, YOU might ask?

Because…

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown was elected Governor.

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown appointed Rose Bird to the California Supreme Court.

I was a policeman when Rose Bird reversed 100% of the 58 death penalty cases.

I was a policeman when Rose Bird used her power to reverse or overturn 61 death penalty convictions (including cop killers).

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown denied knowing Rose Bird’s philosophy on the death penalty.  He said he NEVER talked with her about it.  You believe that?

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown refused to sign the "Victim’s Bill Of Rights".

I was a policeman when 29 police officers were shot and killed while in the line of duty in ’73-’74.

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown vetoed AB 3272, which would have required the bullet proof vest be made available to police officers and sheriffs throughout the state.

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown refused to invoke a state statute that would allow him (the governor) to revoke the parole of Jimmy Smith (The Onion Field incident).

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown signed a law to do away with the valuable "Indeterminate Sentencing Law".

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown spoke out against the execution of William Bonin (found guilty of murdering 14 teen-agers and admitted to killing 21).

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown supported the amazing INMATES Bill of Rights.

I was policeman when Jerry Brown said… "William Bonin was sent to his death, MURDERED by the state, by our representatives."

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown said he would NEVER support the death penalty.

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown said, "There’s nothing wrong with being an anarchist."  *(Speaking to the International Transportation Association, 6-10-95).

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown said, "The U.S. incarceration BINGE is not tied to crime.  It’s a strategy to control the surplus population in a capitalist system that is breaking down."   *Wall Street Journal 8-10-99

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown said, "Putting more felons in jail is an "old fix" that has been tried by every governor."   *Fresno Bee 5-6-94.

I was a policeman when Jerry Brown used his political power to impose his leftist ideology to ruin the state of California.  His policies created havoc on the streets and in the court system.

By the way, then Attorney General George Deukmejian wrote the "Use A Gun Go To Prison" legislation.  Politically, Brown had no choice but to sign it.

I don’t know your motivation for this endorsement, but as far as I’m concerned, you truly should be ashamed of yourselves.

PS: Last night a Sacramento County Sheriff was shot and killed by some murderous loser.  Give Jerry Brown a call and ask him if he favors executing the worthless son-of-a-bitch who did it?
