AD 60 Update: Larry Dick’s Luau Hits LA

This weekend Larry Dick’s campaign for the 60th Assembly District came to part of the LA County. Walnut Valley Water Board member Ling-Ling Chang and Pomona School Board Member Andrew Wong sponsored Larry’s Luau in Diamond Bar.

In the audience were quite a few “Water people”. As water board member Larry is working that angle. Water is big business in CA and there is more money there than some might think.

There were also a lot of GOP activists from the SGV Valley, many that were also at the last Curt Hagman events I was at. They must be checking out the field. See here.

Assemblyman Huff was there saying very nice things about Larry Dick. He is not endorsing and he made sure to tell me that he does the same things for Hagman.

A couple keys to this race will be to what extent geography does ends up being a factor in this district that covers parts of LA, OC and SB counties.

OC has the bulk of GOP voters, but past history shows they don’t always vote in block. Geography does make a difference in endorsements. Senate Majority Leader Dick Ackerman (OC) is with Larry Dick, while Former leader Jim Brulte (SB) is with Hagman.

A big factor will be cash. Hagman is planning to blow the limits, which means Larry will have to spend every penny wisely and hit that $483,000 target. See post on limits here and Brandon Powers on cash here.

I just hope there are more luaus between here and June 2008. I love Spam Musubi and there was plenty there.
