Spence Suggests Two More Possible Bono-Mack Challengers

The inimitable Mike Spence blogged on RedCounty.com that Sen. Dennis Hollingsworth and former Sen. Ray Haynes as strong primary challengers to Rep.Mary Bon-Mack:

Fellow Red County Contributor has clearly articulated the need for a GOP Primary challenge to Mary Bono-Mack.

His suggestions of former legislators Bonnie Garcia and Jim Battin make sense. Battin definitely would be a great candidate. I submit that Senator Dennis Hollingsworth and former legislator Ray Haynes be approached as well.

This Congressional District 45 is not just a Palm Springs district. It stretches down to Murrieta and Temecula through wonderful place like Hemet and Moreno Valley. Both Hollingsworth and Haynes do live in the Congressional District.

Are we talking about the Ray Haynes who supported props 57 & 58 in 2004, the 15 billion dollar bond that papered over Ca. budget crisis back then?

When the names Bono, Haynes, Garcia, are linked with Feinstein,Boxer,Wesson,Nunez,Speier, etc. endorsing props 57 & 58 ,Instead of backing Tom McClintocks 13% cut in spending to solve the budget crisis in 2004, it is very hard to make the case for supporters of props 57 & 58 as fiscal conservatives .

Jim Battin and Dennis Hollingsworths names are not on that list , so that is a feather in there cap.

If we get a person to challenge Bono Mack in the primary, let’s make sure we get the strongest candidate to do it.

This may be Battin’s only shot to do it.

We got someone to challenge that no good earmarking hooker loving Ken Calvert. We just need primary challenges to Jerry Lewis and Mary Bono Mack.
