OC Register Editorial Board Praises Poizner

2010 will be a very positive year for supporters of Steve Poizner’s campaign for governor.

Today Poizner confirmed what most of us have known for a long time – he plans to win this campaign and return conservative principles to Sacramento. Poizner’s campaign announced earlier today that he will be contributing $15 million to his campaign for governor and spending it on spreading his fiscally conservative message.

In other news that should keep Poizner supporters smiling throughout the holiday season, the Orange County Register’s editorial board penned a glowing assessment of Poizner’s campaign and candidacy in Sunday’s print edition of the newspaper. Specifically the OC Register notes that:

“Mr. Poizner is an energetic, tech-savvy Silicon Valley businessman turned politician. He is seeking the state’s top political post to bring jobs back to California, make the state more business friendly and get its economic engine working again.”

“He believes he will win the primary because Republican voters in California predictably vote for “credible conservatives.” He believes he is the conservative candidate in the race and his professed principles support his claim. Guided by conservative principles such as a devotion to free markets, personal liberty, individual responsibility and a commitment to smaller, manageable government, Mr. Poizner says he will carry that message to voters.”

It’s clear that conservatives have a candidate that they can trust in Steve Poizner and it’s clear that Poizner is a conservative that can win in 2010. As an early supporter of Steve’s campaign for governor, I’m excited about the prospects for Republicans statewide in California in 2010 and I’m even more excited that Steve Poizner will be at the top of the ticket.
