Congressman Doug LaMalfa

Lynn Daucher numbers update

Well, it may be a bit unconventional coming from the North California correspondent on OC election numbers, but, hey, nobody else has posted on it yet….and FR readers deserve the news ASAP!  My colleague Lynn is holding to a 302 vote lead after 20,239 county wide ballots were processed today, a drop of only 59 votes, probably heavy on election day ballots.  Thanks to Senator Ackerman for the updated numbers each day, they estimate about 4000 absentees left to count.  Hmm, I like those odds.

    Assemblyman LaMalfa:

That means Mr. Correa carried the most recent ballot group
    by just 1,362 to 1,303, or 51.1% to 48.9%.

He is not going to catch her at that rate. She would still
win by about 200 ballots overall.

Now if Bonnie Garcia can just hold on in AD 80. It is a
concern that Riverside county still has not done any
add-on counts since election night… and Mr. Clute did
narrowly carry that part of the district. Imperial county,
always a maverick, is saving the day.

Riverside County will begin their counts on the 16th and will not update the results daily. They will simply announce the final results when they are complete.

This is according to the Registrar’s comments at a recent meeting of the Riverside Chamber Gov. Affairs committee.

Assemblyman LaMalfa: Thank you for the update. When all it is done, we can soon call Lynn, Senator Daucher!

NO updates have been posted on the Riverside Registrar’s web-site as of
this morning (Friday)….. the totals have stayed the same since Nov. 8th.

Other counties (OC, San Berdoo, San Diego, Santa Barbara) have rapidly
done “add-on” counts of provisonal ballots and late absentees to settle the
    close contests. But not Riverside.

This is consistent with the steady deterioration of service by that department
which I’ve observed over the past few years. Riverside used to be one of the
most efficient Registrar offices in southern California. Now it is among the
    worst.

Does anyone in the Inland Empire know what is going on in there? The
situation is only getting worse. It is past time to shine some sunlight
    on the problem.
