Congressman John Campbell

Support Shadegg for Whip

Yesterday, I posted my endorsement of Mike Pence for Republican Leader.  Here is the endorsement letter I sent to fellow House members putting my support behind John Shadegg for Republican Whip.

Dear Colleague:

I come from the business world. In that environment, if your company’s earnings disappear and your stock price drops through the floor, the market requires that you replace your leadership and your methods. This usually involves changing all of the management team regardless of how much or how little each individual member had to do with the company’s problems. If you don’t do that, the market has no reason to reinvest in you.

Our market, the voters, sent us a clear message last week. Just like a company, we need to prove that we understand our faults and are willing to correct our ways. John Shadegg represents the new direction that is needed in the position of minority whip.

You heard John in conference before the election, and I’m sure you received his e-mails as I have. He is fresh. He is motivated. He is inspiring. He has new ideas and is a new voice for a resurgent Republican Conference. The job of a minority whip goes far beyond what happens on the floor. He also becomes a spokesman presenting our alternative as we show people why to reinvest in a Republican majority in 2008.

My support for John is not based on any issues I have with the incumbent in that office. But the voters have demanded the kind of change that John Shadegg’s integrity, energy and insight can bring.

I ask you to join me in supporting John Shadegg for minority whip.

I remain respectfully,

John Campbell

Bravo to my Congressman John Campbell for endorsing both Mike Pence and John Shadegg! John has it 100% right about the need for new leadership that not only talks the talk of conservative values but walks to the walk too.

If Republicans are ever going to win back the Republican base and the Independant voters, they must be willing to make positive changes with Congressional leaders who really are serious about delievering on the Repubclican message. We need Pence and Shadegg in the lead!

    Thank you Congressman Campbell!

Good move, Congressman! The Democrats got it right – to the extent they can get anything right – by electing Steny Hoyer House Majority Leader and letting Li’l Nancy know that she might getting just be a little too big for her pantsuit. Now it’s our turn to get the right people into leadership positions by electing Pence and Shadegg. If the Demos can turn their back on corruption, so can – and must – we!
