Who Isn’t Supporting Steve Baric for CRP Secretary?

Steve Baric’s campaign for CRP Secretary sent out a Campaign Update earlier today.

I have to admit, I knew Steve’s campaign was going well, but even as a friend of his, I’d lost track of just how well.

Really at this point it’d be easier to list who HASN’T yet signed up to support Steve, than who to lay out the lengthy list of who HAS.

Left, Right, Center.

North, Central, South.

Constitutional Officers, Legislators, County Party Leaders, Grassroots Leaders, CRP Board Members.

In other words, just about everyone.

Steve’s campaign is doing a great job circling the wagons and my hunch is that they’ll continue to do so all the way to February.

For what it’s worth, Steve’s Update is below.

Dear Fellow California Republican,

My campaign to be the next Secretary of the California Republican Party continues to garner support throughout the state. In the past month, I have received the support of legislative leaders such as Senators Tom Harman and Mark Wyland, conservative leaders like California Republican Assembly President Mike Spence and Republican volunteer organizations such as the California Republican Assembly, California Congress of Republicans and the Lincoln Club of Los Angeles.

They join 29 Republican legislators and constitutional officers including Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, Board of Equalization Members Bill Leonard and Michelle Steel and our leaders in the State Senate and the State Assembly, Dick Ackerman and Mike Villines, in endorsing my candidacy. In California, as we face challenges to increase our voter registration and elect more Republicans to local, state and federal offices, we need leaders with new and innovative ideas on how to make our party more successful. Furthermore, we need leaders who have a demonstrated history of implementing those ideas and building coalitions of support for our principles and our people.

As President of the California Republican Lawyers Association, we created the first statewide ballot integrity program designed to detect and deter voter fraud. We also have fought for Republican judicial appointments and supported Republican candidates for judge by establishing the first statewide voter guide on appellate judges.

To recruit young Republican lawyers, I created a legal internship program designed to provide legal support to our legislators and give future leaders an opportunity to become more politically involved – a program that has now evolved to provide legal support to the Republican caucus in the State Assembly. Furthermore, the CRLA has signed on to represent our Republican members in the State Assembly in their lawsuit to prevent the release of 50,000 violent felons into our communities.

As a member of the Board of Directors, I pledge to continue the fight to promote our ideals, increase our voter registration and elect more Republicans throughout California. I hope I can add you to the growing list of supporters for my campaign for CRP Secretary. I look forward to seeing you at the Spring Convention in San Francisco.

Sincerely,
Steve Baric
President, California Republican Lawyers Association
