Traditional Values’ Ben Lopez is on to something good.
Lopez is pushing legislation to enact a Ronald Reagan Day, on Reagan’s birthday February 6 of each year.
AB 2412 [Tran], will be heard next week in front of the Assembly Education Committee. Chaired by Julia Brownley, with Brian Nestande, serving as Vice Chair, there is hope that bill receives a warm welcome.
Van Tran, a Vietnamese refugee whose family was helped under Reagan, will testify.
A Ronald Reagan Day is not an official holiday for state employees to take, yet another day off from their overpaid and under worked positions.
Given that anti Republican Arnold signed into law a Harvey Milk Day for May 22, last year, we are optimistic that one of American’s greatest presidents can pass muster out of the California legislature.

The bill is set for a vote this coming Wednesday, May 5th!
We need folks to get on the phones, send emails and faxes in the day leading up to the vote.
The Assembly Education Committee starts at 1:30. We need 2 or 3 Democrats to come on board and vote for the bill before it can have its day on the Assembly floor!
Since President Obama signed the Ronald Reagan Commemoration Act into law calling for celebrations on Reagan’s upcoming 100th birthday on February 6, 2011, his home state should at the very least have a day set aside for California’s most successfull political figure of all time!

Every day should be Ronald Reagan Day! Feb 06 will be the best day of the year for me.
Republican candidates today are having to prove that they are RPresident Reagan Incarnate to win as a conservative.
When a candidate says he is a Reagan Republican, he is lying.
God made only two of them, their names are Ronald and Nancy.
We must be careful not to create a Ronald Reagan in our own image.
