Redistricting, Congressional Romance, and is the Bush Admin behind Prosper?

Prop. 77 Politics – Ohio and Common Cause
There is a ton of stuff in the news today – expect this to only escalate until we get to the Special Election.  The most interesting articles surround the Redistricting Measure, Proposition 77.  I’m sure FR Beltway Correspondent Jason Roe sighed heavily when he saw today’s Featured Story — that Governor Schwarzenegger has come out in support of a similar redistricting measure in Ohio.  Why Ohio?  There the tables are turned and it is the GOP that wrote themselves an ‘incumbent protection plan’ – the Governor is trying to make a point – that redistricting should be taken out of the hands of the politicans – everywhere.

Yesterday in San Jose, the Governor paraded out the "yesterday’s news" politicans – former San Francisco Mayor Jordan and former San Jose Mayor McHenry to join with Common Cause in endorsing Prop. 77.  There is an interesting article showing that Common Cause is not too united in this cause.

I’VE GOT YOU, BABE!
There is a little budding romance going on back in DC (maybe we’ll hear more on this from Roe) – apparently California Congresswoman Mary Bono has a ‘thing’ going on with Florida Congressman Connie Mack (the son of the Former U.S. Senator of the same name) – at least according to roll call.  Unless you subscribe, you’ll only be able to read the first paragraph of that story…

WYLAND DROPS IN THE BUCKS
Apparently Mark Wyland has dropped a couple hundred thousand in a bid to replace Duke Cunningham for Congress…  You’ll hear more about this race in the coming weeks…  Looks to be a donnybrook with former Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian and State Senator Bill Morrow.

PROSPER NOT ‘BACKED’ BY ADMINISTRATION
I have to run –  but on a closing note – Pierre Prosper is running for Attorney General as a Republican (see here and also there is a SacBee story on the main page.).  I have it on good authority that while Prosper has worked in the Bush Administration, he is NOT being ‘backed’ by the Administration in this bid…developing…

Take care, and drop me your intel!
