This morning the FlashReport has the exclusive scoop on the fact that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has announced his endorsement of Neel Kashkari in his bid for Governor of California.
In endorsing Kashkari, Governor Jeb Bush had this to say…
“Today, I’m proud to endorse Neel Kashkari, a bold conservative Republican leader, as California’s next governor … From his time in the private sector to his time in public service, Neel has demonstrated a unique ability to bring people together to achieve success in challenging circumstances. He is a principled man of action – not someone who simply leads from behind. Fixing California is no small task, but Neel Kashkari has the vision and the drive to reject the status quo and usher in a new era of opportunity for the state’s families and communities. Whether it’s creating jobs, implementing regulatory reform or improving education for children, there is no doubt that Neel is the right leader for California.”
Kashkari’s endorsement by Bush today follows on the heels of Kashkari releasing three other prominent GOP endorsers yesterday — former GOP Presidential nominee and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former California Governor Pete Wilson, and Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee.
“I greatly admire Gov. Bush and the tremendous work he did as governor to improve Florida’s schools and transform the lives of millions of kids, and I’m humbled and honored to receive his endorsement for my gubernatorial campaign today,” said Kashkari. “Gov. Bush proved in Florida what I believe is also true in California – that every child can learn and excel, regardless of where they come from or how much money their parents make. With the right policies and the right leadership, we can fix California’s schools and turn our economy around, and that’s the reason I’m running for governor.”
Rolling out these high profile GOP endorsements comes at a critical “make it or break it” time for Kashkari’s candidacy. Recent polls have shown Kashkari significantly lagging behind the candidacy of Republican opponent Assemblyman Tim Donnelly. That having been said, with absentee ballot voting beginning in just a week, Kashkari is preparing to unleash his statewide voter contact campaign. Having recognizable, iconic Republican endorsers that are featuring on his mail to voters will be of tremendous help to the virtually known Kashkari.

Today, I’m proud to endorse Neel Kashkari, a bold conservative Republican leader, as California’s next governor.
California, once the true “Golden State” of opportunity, now ranks 47th in jobs, 46th in education and first in poverty. Years of one-party rule by Democrats in Sacramento have continually failed the middle class, and nowhere is this clearer than in California’s schools.
Thankfully, there is hope for a better future for California’s children in Neel Kashkari.
We know real results are possible when reform-minded leaders take on big challenges with the support of voters. Before I served as governor, Florida schools were failing and ranked near the bottom in nearly every national survey.
