Matt Rexroad
Matt Rexroad has achieved success in some of the most challenging situations imaginable.  Professionally, he has served as a policy advisor in state government, Mayor, US Marine, attorney, businessman, and community statesman. Professionally, Matt and his two partners founded an award winning public affairs firm with accounts all over the United States.  The professional staff of fourteen is located in Nebraska, Hawaii, and throughout California.  The headquarters is in Sacramento, CA. From 2002 until 2006 Matt served as Vice-Mayor and then Mayor of Woodland, CA.  Woodland is a community of 53,000 people in Yolo County.  In his role as Mayor, he was recognized as an effective community leader.  Matt was elected to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors in 2006 & 2010.  His current term runs until January 2015. Staff Sergeant Rexroad spent 13 years with Detachment 4th Force Reconnaissance in Reno, NV.  Some of his many military schools include USMC Basic Reconnaissance, USMC Intelligence Analyst, US Army Military Freefall, USMC Mountain Survival Instructor, USMC Logistics Clerk, US Navy SERE and US Army Airborne.  In 2003, Matt spent six months in Kuwait and Iraq with 1st Force Reconnaissance. For his service in Iraq, the National Conference of State Legislators awarded him the Medal of Civic Honor.  He has now completed his military service. Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 1990.  He earned his law degree at night from McGeorge School of Law while working full-time in the State Capitol as the Chief of Staff to a State Senator. In law school he won awards for oral advocacy.  He later earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California Sacramento Center.  He is a member of the California State Bar. In Woodland, Matt is active in the community. He is active in a large number of community activities focused on service.  He is a two-time bone marrow donor, who lost his "bone marrow brother" from Buffalo, NY in 2001.  Matt has served on the YMCA Board of Directors, Yolo County Health Council, Woodland Parks and Recreation Commission, and Woodland Sunrise Rotary Foundation. Matt and his wife Jenn live in a craftsman home in the historic part of Woodland.  They have two young children Abigail and Adam.   Jenn is a professional educator with degrees from UCLA and Pepperdine.  She has more than seven years of experience in the public and private schools in California.
